Bear Cub Families,

With some cooler mornings, we are beginning to see our Bear Cubs in longer sleeves, hoodies, and light jackets which are often shed by the afternoon due to rising temperatures. Each year, around this time, is when we begin to find collections of discarded sweatshirts and jackets on the recess field or at PE. We routinely encourage our students to keep track of their belongings, but we can all be forgetful from time to time. In the event your child’s item is left behind, I want to ensure we return your child’s items to them, please take a moment and put their name on the inside of their jacket or hoodie.

Each day, more and more candy is arriving for our Annual PTO Fall Festival! We are excited for a night filled with games, food, and trunk or treat! Remember, the class with the most donations will earn a pizza party sponsored by our PTO! All candy must be individually wrapped and the deadline for donations is October 20th.

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) is a prestigious organization that recognizes outstanding elementary students for their achievement and commitment to excellence. Members are selected based on their scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership. At CRPS, our NEHS students not only strive for academic success but also take part in service projects that positively impact our school and community. This program helps our Bear Cubs grow as leaders while encouraging them to set high goals, serve others, and make a difference.

Crystal River Primary is proud to be the only remaining elementary school in our district with a National Elementary Honor Society chapter! To support our NEHS students, we are hosting a Donation Dine-In Night on Tuesday, September 30th at Texas Roadhouse in Lecanto. The flier attached to this week’s email, on ParentSquare and Facebook is your ticket. Simply show it to your server before ordering, and a portion of your meal will go directly to our NEHS chapter. Feel free to share the flier with family and friends so they can join in supporting our Bear Cubs too!

On the calendar this week:
 Tuesday, Sept. 23- Bear cub Chess Club meets until 5 pm
 Thursday, Sept. 25- Bear Cub Chorus will meet at 8 am.

Oct. 27-31st is Red Ribbon Week
Oct. 30th is our Quarter 1 Honor Roll and Citizenship celebration for students in grades 3-5
