CRPS Call out Week of 09.15.25

Posted Date: 09/14/25 (06:00 PM)

Bear Cub Families,

We are already halfway through Quarter 1! Midterm progress reports were emailed to families on Saturday. We encourage you to check Skyward regularly to monitor your child’s progress. During upcoming parent-teacher conferences, teachers will review your child’s growth and share ways you can support learning at home. If you haven’t yet signed up for a conference, please check ParentSquare, your child’s folder/agenda, or reach out directly to your child’s teacher.

As students settle into routines, it’s natural for them to grow more comfortable and sometimes test boundaries. At Crystal River Primary, we believe in providing a safe, structured environment where children can thrive. Our staff will continue to communicate both the celebrations and the challenges of your child’s day, always with their best interest in mind. If your child shares a concern at home, please reach out to their teacher so we can work together to address it—partnership is key, and what we don’t know, we can’t fix.

We are proud to celebrate positive choices on our campus! Just last week, 22 Bear Cubs were recognized for making a difference through their actions. At the same time, we remain committed to holding students accountable for their behavior, which always includes keeping families informed.

Many of our classrooms have begun reviewing their progress monitoring data and setting goals as they work toward PM2. Goal setting is an important skill for students because it helps them take ownership of their learning and recognize the growth they are making. At CRPS, we guide students to set goals that are both realistic and attainable, so they can build confidence as they achieve them. We encourage you to ask your child about their goals and celebrate their progress along the way—family conversations and encouragement at home make a big difference in helping our Bear Cubs stay motivated and focused.

Reading at home with your child each night is one of the most impactful ways to support their success in school. Setting aside just 15–20 minutes for shared reading helps build vocabulary, strengthens comprehension skills, and fosters a love for books. Research shows that children who read regularly with their families develop stronger academic skills and greater confidence as lifelong learners. Your time spent reading together not only supports your child’s growth as a student but also creates special moments that they will remember for years to come.
